TL Tree Campaign

TENDERLOIN TREE PLANTING September 11, 2018 When:  Tuesday September 11th, 9am - Noon Where: Tenderloin, Meet at Turk Hyde Park TLCBD is looking for volunteers! Join us on Tuesday, September 11 for an opportunity to plant trees, in partnership with San Francisco 's Public Works.  To register with the TLCBD team for any of the following, please email fernando@tlcbd.org or call 415-292-4812 ext 300. The TLCBD has advocated for more trees in the Tenderloin, and we are happy to report that Public Works will be providing almost 40 more trees to the neighborhood and surrounding area. Up to 30 volunteers will be recruited to work with TLCBD and Public Works staff to plant them throughout the Tenderloin. June 13th - The Tenderloin Celebrates Greening and Safety Improvements! A Community Celebration and Tree Planting is Planned for Saturday, June 13    UC Hastings College of the Law ,  San Francisco County Transit Authority ,  Friends of the Urban Forest ,  Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation  and the  Tenderloin Community Benefit District  will celebrate the completion of a tremendous project intended to increase pedestrian safety and greening for the neighborhood.  Download the media advisory announcement   $2.5M was invested to complete numerous streetscape improvements including sidewalk widening, curb extensions, landscaping, improved lighting and the addition of new trees for the Tenderloin neighborhood.  This work will support San Francisco's  Vision Zero  plan to significantly reduce pedestrian fatalities and accidents.  Below is a schedule of the day's cele...

Tomorrow, a celebration of the improvements will be held at UC Hastings at 10am, accompanied by a community tree planting.  Upgrades included installing corner bulbouts at the intersection of McAllister and Hyde streets, as well as a traffic island and curb ramp at McAllister and Leavenworth.
